BASEBALL DIVISIONS AND FEES


PLEASE NOTE:  THE DIVISION PLACEMENT FOR YOUR CHILD IS CALCULATED USING THEIR "LITTLE LEAGUE AGE."   LITTLE LEAGUE AGE IS CALCULATED BY THE AGE THE PLAYER IS AS OF AUGUST 31, 2026.  THE CURRENT AGE OF YOUR CHILD MAY NOT REFLECT HIS/HER "LITTLE LEAGUE AGE".  PLEASE REFER TO THE DROP DOWN "LITTLE LEAGUE AGE CHART" UNDER THE 2026 SPRING BASEBALL TAB TO ASSIST IN CALCULATING YOUR CHILD'S LITTLE LEAGUE AGE. (As an example, a child may be 9 when the Little League season begins in March.  But if the child turns 10 before August 31st, they are considered Little League Age 10 for division placement and they will only be eligible to play in the Minors AAA Division. Furthermore, the Sports Connect system will only allow the child to be registered in the Minors AAA Division.)


GENERAL INFORMATION

 
Uniforms: 
- All players are provided jerseys and hats.
- Belts and socks are only provided to Tee Ball and Rookies players.
- Baseball pants, cleats, mitts or protective cup are not provided for any division.

Equipment:
Coaches are provided with one team bat and one helmet should players need to borrow for games and practices.
- One set of catcher's gear is also included for Minors AA and above

Practice Fields:
Practice fields and dates/times will be coordinated by the league.
- All practices are included in the price of the registration, as listed below.

Assessments & Drafts:
Teams in the Minors AA Division and above will be formed utilizing a draft based format to ensure teams are fair and balanced.  Drafts will be based on player assessments, held on February 20th (7-9pm) and February 21st (11am-7pm).  Neither friend or coach requests will be accepted in these divisions.  


BEFORE YOU START THE REGISTRATION PROCESS

STEP 1 - CHECK THE BOUNDARIES
  • Before registering for the 2026 Spring Little League season, please verify that either your player's residence or school is within Academy Little League boundaries: https://www.littleleague.org/play-little-league/league-finder/.
  • If only the school is within our boundaries, you will need a school waiver to play with Academy Little League for the Spring 2026 season. https://www.littleleague.org/downloads/school-enrollment-form/. Completion of this form is only required ONCE during a player's career, unless the school enrollment changes. A II(d) waiver would then be required.
  • Exception - Starting with the 2025 season, players who are Little League Age 4-6 will have the ability to register for any Little League program they choose, without respect to any geography- or school-related eligibility requirements. Those players who register under this option will also be fully eligible to participate in all aspects of league play, including eligibility for All Stars for the duration of their Little League careers provided they have continuous and unbroken participation within the specific league where initially registered and provided all other participation eligibility requirements have been met.
STEP 2 - GATHER REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
  • Residency shall be established and Supported by: Documents containing the full residence which includes parents) or court-appointed guardian(s) name, street address, city, state, and zip code information, dated or in force between February I of the previous year and February 1 of the current year, from ONE or more documents from EACH of the three groups outlined in this checklist: https://www.littleleague.org/university/articles/residency-eligibility-checklist/
  • Please gather these documents in the form of a digital file (JPG Or PDF) so you can upload them during the registration process.
  • Birth Certificate
STEP 3 - LOG IN
  • For returning players, please log in. Your player's information will be displayed. 
  • For new players to Academy Little League - click on the correct link below for your player's age and you will be prompted to create an account. 
  • Please have a digital image (JPG or PDF) of the player's birth certificate available for upload.
STEP 4 - KNOW YOUR PLAYER'S LITTLE LEAGUE AGE FOR REFERENCE (SEE BELOW)
  • The Sports Connect System should automatically place your player in the correct division based on their "Little League Age," which is the age they will be on August 31, 2026.
  • One exception is for the overlap for 6 year olds in Tee Ball and Rookies: Per Little League Rules, 6-year-olds who have not played a season of organized baseball, MUST be enrolled in the Tee Ball Division. 

DIVISIONS

Tee Ball
- Little League Age 4-6
- Tee Ball will focus on the fundamentals of baseball like hitting, throwing, catching, and sportsmanship rather than winning.
- Tee Ball Coaches will utilize the Little League Tee Ball Curriculum.
- Players will hit off a tee.  Advanced players will progress to modified coach pitch (from the knee).  All players will bat through the roster, and there will be no outs in the traditional sense. Players will rotate defensive positions.
- Games are typically one hour long, with one practice and one game per week.
- 8 games and 8 practices scheduled.
- Friend and Coach requests will be accepted.
- Practices generally at Chinook Trail Elementary School or Ranch Creek Elementary.  Games generally at Academy Endeavor Elementary School and Dublin Park.  
- Little League Age 6-year-olds who have not played a season of organized baseball, must enroll in the Tee Ball Division
- Fee: $99

Rookies
- Little League Age 6-7
- ***Little League Age 6-year-olds who have not played organized baseball, must enroll in the Tee Ball Division***
- Rookies is an instructional division that will focus on the fundamentals of baseball like hitting, properly fielding a ball, etc. 
- Coach pitch and/or machine pitch will be utilized in this division.
- 10 games and 10 practices scheduled.
- Friend and Coach requests will be accepted.
- Practices generally at Chinook Trail Elementary School or Ranch Creek Elementary.  Games generally at Academy Endeavor Elementary School and Dublin Park.  - Fee: $195

Minors AA
- Little League Age 8
Minors AA is an instructional division, that will focusing on players learning fundamentals of pitching, learning balls and strikes, base running, etc.
- Player pitch will be utilized for the entirety of the season, with coaches completing the pitch count when 4 balls are pitched.
- Players must attend assessments (scheduled for February 20th (7-9pm) and February 21st (11am-7pm)).
- Team will be formed using a draft based on the assessments,  Friend and coach requests will not be accepted.
- 12 games and 17 practices scheduled.
- 2x Practices/Week until first game a 1x Practice/Week once games start
- Practices generally at Academy Endeavor Elementary School or Fremont Park.  Games generally at Mountain Ridge Middle School.
- Teams will compete in an end-of-season tournament in which seeding will be based on a random draw.
- Fee: $255

Minors AAA
- Little League Age 9-10
- This is a competitive division with full player pitch the entire season.
- Players must attend assessments (scheduled for February 20th (7-9pm) and February 21st (11am-7pm)).
- Team will be formed using a draft based on the assessments,  Friend and coach requests will not be accepted.
- 12 games and 17 practices scheduled.
- 2x Practices/Week until first game a 1x Practice/Week once games start.
- Practices generally at Discovery Park or Timberview Middle School.  Games generally at Timberview Middle School.
- Teams will compete in an end-of-season tournament in which seeding will be based on season standings.
- Fee: $285

Majors
- Little League Age 11-12
- This is a competitive division.
-  Players must attend assessments (scheduled for February 20th (7-9pm) and February 21st (11am-7pm)).
- Team will be formed using a draft based on the assessments,  Friend and coach requests will not be accepted.
- 12 games and 17 practices scheduled.
- 2x Practices/Week until first game a 1x Practice/Week once games start.
- Practices and games generally at Keller Park or Chinook Trail Middle School.  
- Teams will compete in an end-of-season tournament in which seeding will be based on season standings.
- Fee: $285

Intermediates
- Little League Age 12-13
- ***Little League Age 12 players should NOT register in this division unless they have advanced baseball skills and have experience playing competitive baseball with rules similar to CABA and USSSA***
- This is a competitive division with rules similar to CABA and USSSA.
-  Players must attend assessments (scheduled for February 20th (7-9pm) and February 21st (11am-7pm)).
- Team will be formed using a draft based on the assessments,  Friend and coach requests will not be accepted.
- Pitching Distance is 50' with base paths of 70’.
- 12 games and 17 practices scheduled.
- 2x Practices/Week until first game a 1x Practice/Week once games start.
- Practices and games generally at Ford Frick Park.
- Teams will compete in an end-of-season tournament in which seeding will be based on season standings.
- Fee: $285

Juniors
- Little League Age 14
- This is a competitive division.
-  Players must attend assessments (scheduled for February 20th (7-9pm) and February 21st (11am-7pm)).
- Team will be formed using a draft based on the assessments,  Friend and coach requests will not be accepted.
- 12 games and 17 practices scheduled.
- 2x Practices/Week until first game a 1x Practice/Week once games start.
- Games will be played at multiple 60'/90' fields in Colorado Springs TBD.
- Fee: $285
